Benchmark indices wiped out morning gains in later part of the session today as the Sensex was down 90.42 points at 31,833.99.
The Nifty ended below 10,000 level, down 32.15 points at 9,984.80.
About two shares declined for every share rising on the BSE.
Bharti Airtel, TCS, and HPCL were the top gainers, while SBI, BHEL, and Indiabulls Housing lost the most.
